Bio-based CO removal methods

Welcome!

Here you can find information on bio-based CO removal methods in Germany.

In addition to reducing and avoiding greenhouse gas emissions, CO removal from the atmosphere is a necessary strategy to achieve climate neutrality in Germany by 2045. Climate neutrality means that there is a balance between the emissions of CO and other greenhouse gases and their removal from the atmosphere. As part of the BioNET project, we have been working on CO removal methods in the German context. The methods have different potentials. Taken together, they can make an important contribution to climate neutrality in Germany.

The range of possible CO removal methods is shown here - from the areas of agriculture, paludiculture, forest management, building materials and BECCS technologies.
